There are no stock standard furnishings or predictable artworks; the hotel’s much-awarded concept was designed to delight the viewer in surprising ways. The sleek lines of the reception hall are interrupted by an explosive installation of broken surfboards, all snapped in action, and all signed by their owners. Yves Klien is responsible for the blue glass tiles that decorate the Sunset Pool, and the wall coverings that lead to the spa and ballroom are hand painted renderings brushed on to beige linen.
