Innovative New Airship Redefines Luxury Air Travel

30th August 2018

Luxury air touring just got a whole new meaning, as the Airlander 10 is an airship like none you have seen before. Designed by Hybrid Air Vehicles (HAV), it can take off and land from virtually any flat surface, which opens up opportunities for luxury expeditions to places existing transport can’t reach for the ultimate in transformative, experiential travel. Indeed, the ability to stay aloft for days at a time, in virtual silence, and floor-to-ceiling windows puts the Airlander in a class of its own.

Stephen McGlennan, HAV’s CEO, suggests that the Airlander 10 will change the way we think about air travel. "Air travel has become very much about getting from A to B as quickly as possible. What we’re offering is a way of making the journey a joy."

And a joy it most certainly will be, if the recently unveiled interiors by Design Q are any indication. The airship features 10 luxurious en-suite bedrooms, more reminiscent of a hotel than an aircraft.

With a cabin larger than most single-aisle aircraft, the interior is truly spacious, which allowed the team at Design Q to create an area filled with unique features that set new standards for excellence in air travel.

Guests can relax in a number of open areas, including a glass floor viewing area, with floor-to ceiling windows offering unparalleled horizon-to-horizon views in the Altitude Bar and spacious lounge.

The company has already announced that Henry Cookson Adventures will be the first to trial an expeditionary journey in 2018. If successful, they aim to offer a range of destinations to landscapes as diverse as the North Pole, Bolivian Salt Pans and Namib Desert, sharing hidden corners of the world with a select few.

While an exciting prospect, many hours of test flights must still be conducted before this luxury option takes to the skies.
