What to do on a holiday in Vegas

13th March 2014

To many, Las Vegas is synonymous with the glitz, glamour and bright lights of its many casinos and nightclubs. Sin City is certainly flashy, but there are also plenty of other activities you can enjoy. If you're planning USA holidays this year, make sure to stop by Vegas for a dose of pure fun.

Take in a show

The showmanship and entertainment on offer in Vegas is second to none, and the city plays host to a variety of scintillating acts all year round. Cirque du Soleil are always a welcome addition to the stage, delighting audiences anew with each carefully crafted show. Featuring dazzling aerial acrobatics, elaborate costumes and staging and sweeping musical scores, a Cirque show is definitely not to be missed.

Elsewhere, famous magicians Penn & Teller are always ready to boggle the mind with their tricks and illusions, and there are also several musicals to choose from if you want to get your toes tapping. In 2014, one of the biggest headliners on the bill is all-American pop star Britney Spears with her 'Piece of Me' show - catch her live at the Planet Hollywood Resort.

See the Bellagio fountains

This is one show that you can enjoy for free, as the Bellagio fountains delight and amaze. Jets of water shoot up into the sky, typically accompanied by the smooth vocals of Frank Sinatra or Gene Kelly. The fountains put on this display every half hour between 3pm and 8pm, and every 15 minutes from 8pm until midnight.

Treat your taste buds

Vegas is fast becoming one of the most delectable culinary destinations in America, perfect for any foodies planning USA tours. Whether it's a perfectly cooked steak you're after or a complicated degustation menu with multiple carefully crafted dishes, you'll find all you can eat and more in Sin City.
