Ann-Catherine Jones from Jones & Turner Travel Associatesin Paddington, NSW was offered a weekend away at one of the world's best luxury health resorts, Chiva-Som. At the risk of feeling extremely jealous, read on...
When I was invited by Travel the World on an educational to experience the world famous Chiva-Som Health Resort in Thailand, I could hardly believe my luck. I have been sending clients there for many years and have heard nothing but praise from them regarding the resort’s outstanding facilities, rejuvenation and health services and exceptional food. Some of my clients go every year they enjoy it so much.
During the speedy three hour car transfer from Bangkok to the seaside town of Hua Hin , I really had no idea what to expect. Hua Hin itself is a surprisingly large city located on an 8 kilometre stretch of beach with many resorts standing side by side, many of them of high-rise condominium style. So arriving at the Chiva-Som was like entering a lovely and intimate sanctuary.
Included in the rates are a health and wellness consultation, a daily massage, their award winning and truly amazing spa cuisine and a varied and interesting selection of daily resort activities and fitness classes. These are designed to introduce you to different and unique physical activities to stimulate the mind and get you moving at the same time. I tried Thai Chi, Aqua Aerobics and Pranayama Breathing which is a different type of yoga focusing on the respiratory system. I found the range of activities fascinating and thoroughly enjoyed them.
There is nothing that the Chiva Som haven’t thought of to effectively cater for their guests comfort and relaxation. From serene and calming rooms, with all the comforts you would expect of a 5 star boutique resort, to their spa, which truly is a sanctuary. I also have to mention their truly professional and world class staff, whom were so welcoming and engaging. I simply cannot wait until the time I am sitting beside the pool, sipping on a Chiva Colada mocktail and working out my hectic schedule of massages, meals, classes and relaxation time again!
I would like to thank Travel the World and the Chiva-Som for sponsoring my unforgettable weekend of bliss, and to Thai Airways for their truly lovely service and flights to and from Bangkok.
