Having commenced operations little more than twenty years ago, Qatar Airways has grown to become one of the largest international airlines in the world. From a customer stand point, the airline's top notch fleet and stellar reputation for service have made the airline a popular choice for Australians travelling overseas.
Qatar Airways is based in Doha where it operates international services to more than 150 destinations around the world. Australians benefit from Qatar's direct services to Doha from Melbourne and Perth, with connecting services available to cities throughout the Middle East, Asia, Africa and much of Europe. Qatar continues to expand in North America too with recent new routes linking Doha with Chicago and Los Angeles.
In 2013, Qatar joined the Oneworld Alliance. The airline tie-up provides frequent flyer members with other Oneworld members such as Qantas to earn and redeem points when travelling on Qatar. The airline's own frequent flyer program is known as Privilege Club, and Burgundy, Silver, Gold and Platinum members receive benefits commensurate with each status level.
