Throughout her years of travelling the world, Jen Parker has developed a passion for discovering the most authentic experiences that a destination has to offer.
“While in South Africa I had an up close encounter with an elephant. It was pitch black and we had to stay dead still and silent while a pack of elephants walked past – the alpha male decided to investigate us with his trunk.”
Jen’s other once-in-a-lifetime experiences include a hot air balloon ride over Egypt’s Valley of the Kings, scuba diving in the Gili Islands of Bali and riding a camel through the Sahara desert. This wealth of impressive experience coupled with Jen’s passion for authenticity inspires her to add enriching touches to her clients’ itineraries wherever possible.
“I recently coordinated a six month, round-the-world trip for a solo female client of mine. She’s been planning this trip for three years, and it was incredible to be able to help her pack her itinerary full of enhancing experiences. I am now friends with her on Facebook and see all the pictures of her travels, which has been wonderfully rewarding.”
When it comes to favourite destinations, Jen says Morocco has it all:
“There are beaches, beautiful riads, the vibrant energy of Marrakech, snowcapped mountains and the Sahara Desert, all in one country! One of my favourite travel memories is of my Kasbah stay in the High Atlas Mountains. Sitting on our balcony and drinking mint tea against a backdrop of snow capped mountains is a moment I will never forget.”
Jen also believes that some unique experiences are what you make of them, and fondly recalls tailing a Spanish grandmother through the markets in Barcelona, copying her purchases, and ending with a picnic feast in Park Guell. As well as authentic culture immersions, she also loves active adventures and has recently completed a four day trek of Mt Rinjani on Lombok.
“There are so many places and experiences that I consider to be unmissable, and I think that’s why I enjoy creating round-the-world itineraries so much, as well as small group journeys. Helping my clients to discover the true essence of a destination is something I am truly passionate about.”

Jen assisted me in organising the travel requirements for our regional finalists to attend an Awards Ceremony last year. A number of the clients Jen was arranging travel for had chronic health conditions or disabilities which Jen handled with sensitivity and compassion. Jen was an incredible help; she was extremely organised, sincere and patient, given that many of the plans needed to be flexible and tailored to suit the clients specialised needs. Nothing was too much trouble for Jen, she always responded promptly and with good humour – Jen it was an absolute pleasure working with you and I look forward to doing it again soon in the near future.Sheona Havelberg
