Shelley's favourite quote is: ‘Travel is about the journey, not the destination’ and she applies this when working with clients to plan and bring their dream holiday to life.
“The world is full of so many diverse and rich cultures and being able to introduce my clients to some of these is a very rewarding experience.”
After 15 years in the industry, Shelley has seen her fair share of the world. From the major cities of the USA to the most exotic reaches of Europe, Shelley has a wealth of first hand experiences that allow her to offer original and expert advice.
"Discovering the lost city of Petra in Jordan was simply amazing. My first experience of the iconic Treasury ruin was by candlelight - what a breathtaking sight, walking down The Siq I felt like Indiana Jones on an adventure... Just to keep the fantasy going, I also had a full day discovering the table of high sacrifice and then climbed the 800 steps to the Monastery - bucket list adventure ticked off!"
It is this sense of wonder and adventure that Shelley seeks to imbue in all her client’s itineraries. She loves connecting people with the world and opening their eyes to different experiences that will leave them touched, moved and inspired, such has her own experience on the Great Wall of China.
“I stayed on a farmer’s property that bordered the wall, and there were absolutely no tourists. Seeing the sprawling wall wind like a snake through the mountains is a sight that I will never forget.”
Shelley also has a passion for luxury, and touts the Mix Lounge at Mandalay Bay as her favourite spot in Las Vegas for a pre-dinner drink.
“It’s got some of the best cocktails on the strip, and even the restrooms have floor to ceiling windows, allowing amazing views of the Las Vegas Strip!”
From ‘kissing’ stingrays in the Cayman Islands to souvenir shopping in Barcelona, Shelley has a passion for once-in-a-lifetime experiences that makes her the perfect person to call on when planning an unforgettable holiday. Throughout her years of travelling the world, Jen Parker has developed a passion for discovering the most authentic experiences that a destination has to offer.
“While in South Africa I had an up close encounter with an elephant. It was pitch black and we had to stay dead still and silent while a pack of elephants walked past – the alpha male decided to investigate us with his trunk.”
Jen’s other once-in-a-lifetime experiences include a hot air balloon ride over Egypt’s Valley of the Kings, scuba diving in the Gili Islands of Bali and riding a camel through the Sahara desert. This wealth of impressive experience coupled with Jen’s passion for authenticity inspires her to add enriching touches to her clients’ itineraries wherever possible.
“I recently coordinated a six month, round-the-world trip for a solo female client of mine. She’s been planning this trip for three years, and it was incredible to be able to help her pack her itinerary full of enhancing experiences. I am now friends with her on Facebook and see all the pictures of her travels, which has been wonderfully rewarding.”
When it comes to favourite destinations, Jen says Morocco has it all:
“There are beaches, beautiful riads, the vibrant energy of Marrakech, snowcapped mountains and the Sahara Desert, all in one country! One of my favourite travel memories is of my Kasbah stay in the High Atlas Mountains. Sitting on our balcony and drinking mint tea against a backdrop of snow capped mountains is a moment I will never forget.”
Jen also believes that some unique experiences are what you make of them, and fondly recalls tailing a Spanish grandmother through the markets in Barcelona, copying her purchases, and ending with a picnic feast in Park Guell. As well as authentic culture immersions, she also loves active adventures and has recently completed a four day trek of Mt Rinjani on Lombok.
“There are so many places and experiences that I consider to be unmissable, and I think that’s why I enjoy creating round-the-world itineraries so much, as well as small group journeys. Helping my clients to discover the true essence of a destination is something I am truly passionate about.”

Zeenat has been to all seven continents and wishes there were more to explore! Her rich store of travel expertise extends from Antarctica through to Argentina, and she loves custom designing itineraries to suit her client’s personal sense of adventure.
Zeenat’s favourite travel destination is India, and her father’s tales of growing up in Punjab with views of the Himalayan foothills inspired a lifelong passion for travel and adventure.
“The sights, sounds and smells of India tantalise the senses and evoke long-term memories. It’s a land of incredible extremes, and there’s always something to do, see and experience that will take you by surprise. It’s somewhere you travel to and can’t help but return a more enlightened human.”
“I’ll never forget climbing to the top of Taragarh or ‘Star Fort’ on the outskirts of town of Bundi, India, walking past the monkeys, admiring the view over this little town and the sprawling landscape of Rajasthan. Descending at dusk and enjoying beer and samosas at a rooftop family run restaurant was the perfect end to a perfect day.”
When she’s not strolling with penguins in Antarctica or marvelling at the sight of Mt Everest towering above the conifers, Zeenat enjoys adventures of a more urbane persuasion. She fondly recalls picnicking at beautiful Stellenbosch vineyard in South Africa, sampling the local wine and fresh produce amongst the picturesque mountains and grapevines.
“Another favourite travel moment was driving down the iconic Mulholland Drive in Los Angeles, before heading off to the observatory at Griffith Park to enjoy amazing views of the Hollywood Hills, canyons and a movie star panorama of the City of Angels.”
As well as adventure holidays, Zeenat specialises in family holidays and multi-generational travel, and a truly fulfilling moment in her career was helping an elderly couple with their travel plans:
“They were 94 and 97 respectively, and I went with them to and from the airport so they could travel from Perth over to NSW for a family reunion. They ended up moving over there to be closer to their family, and it was incredibly rewarding to be a part of that.”

Kelly booked her first big overseas adventure back in 2000 and the travel agent inspired her so much that she decided to start a career in travel upon her return from Europe. She never looked back, and still relishes the daily thrill of being a consultant.
“I love that every day is different! There’s always a lot of excitement, and all sorts of personalised trips to book. You might have customers booking for the first time or for the 20th time, and I love the variety.”
Kelly has travelled to 28 countries but still considers her native New Zealand as the ultimate travel destination.
“Queenstown is a slice of paradise set against the natural beauty of Lake Wakatipu and the Southern Alps. The breathtaking scenery and range of experiences on offer make it a destination that no one should miss out on.”
Kelly is no stranger to island paradise, having planned her own dream wedding in the Cook Islands, sparking a love of destination wedding planning that she still embraces today.
“I’ve researched plenty of wedding venues in Fiji, and have also travelled to Tahiti many times. The South Pacific is a stunning location for a wedding and organising the details of a wedding party and their guests is something I am really passionate about.”
Kelly is a certified Tahiti Tiare Specialist, and some of her favourite travel moments include swimming with sharks and manta rays off Moorea and jet skiing around Mount Otemanu in Bora Bora’s pristine waters.
Her experience doesn’t stop at the beach! Another fond memory of Kelly’s is a visit to Disneyland.
“Even though I visited for the first time as an adult, Disneyland is definitely a very happy place. I felt like a big kid in the world’s biggest playground and loved every minute.”
Kelly prides herself on the ability to put herself in her clients’ shoes, allowing her to pre-empt any details that will make their journey easier or more enjoyable.
“I like to add little extras whenever I can, whether it’s just letting the hotel know they’re my VIPs so there’s flowers waiting in their room, or arranging a family-friendly villa with kids in mind. I always go the extra mile because the feeling of delighting my guests is just as much a thrill for me as it is for them.”

After travelling to almost 50 countries, Charlotte has plenty of first-hand travel tips to enhance her clients’ holidays. Using her unique experiences to help others on a daily basis is just a part of the reason Charlotte loves being a Travel Associates Consultant.
“Every day is different, every itinerary is unique. Being a part of someone’s travel dreams is a rewarding and wonderful experience!”
As a snow enthusiast, Charlotte’s current favourite skiing destination is Hakuba, Japan, and she recommends a unique side tour to complete the experience.
“When skiing at Hakuba I always take a day off the slopes to visit the snow monkeys that soak in the thermal hot springs – it’s quite a sight. There is a great tour which includes an amazing lunch at the Masuichi ‘Club’ Restaurant located in the historic Masuichi Sake Brewery in Obuse as well as stopping at Zenkoji Temple.”
Charlotte has also travelled extensively through South America, and had a life-changing experience among the mountainous beauty of Bolivia.
“My husband proposed on the top of Huana Potosi just outside of La Paz, Bolivia. The peak is 6088m above sea level and involves three days of mountaineering. We reached the summit for sunrise and the beginning of the rest of our lives together.”
Another tip Charlotte swears by is spending as much time as possible in Cusco, Peru before making the hike to Macchu Picchu.
“Apart from the fact that this assists enormously with adjusting to the altitude to allow better enjoyment of the hiking experience, the town is charming and great to explore.”
Charlotte is originally from Tasmania, and after all her travels she still recommends Freycinet National Park as one of her top travel destinations: “The view over Wineglass Bay is nothing short of perfect.” She also recommends dining at Ristorante Da Angelos in Hobart, an authentic Italian eatery which is as famous for its service as for its mouth-watering pizza and pasta.
Charlotte has a passion for memorable experiences and a love of creating opportunities for others to experience them. Stop by Brice & Turner Travel Associates to talk to her about your ideas for a holiday filled with unforgettable moments.
