Shelley's favourite quote is: ‘Travel is about the journey, not the destination’ and she applies this when working with clients to plan and bring their dream holiday to life. The world is full of so many diverse and rich cultures and being able to introduce my clients to some of these is a very rewarding experience.
After 18 years in the industry, Shelley has seen her fair share of the world. From the major cities of the USA, to the most exotic places in Europe. She can offer first-hand advice on trips to the UK as well as adventurous ideas for Asia. An expert in cruising and a specialist on South Africa, Shelley is clearly well versed in different destinations and travel styles.
Her favourite destination so far has been Mexico, as there are so many different cities to visit, each with their own appeal. From world-class resorts and beaches on the Riveria to the lesser visited colonial buildings and archaeological sites.
It's also a foodie’s heaven with carne asada, mole chicken, fish tacos and churros. Not to mention the margaritas.
Shelley has many fond memories, the greatest of all being swimming, snorkelling and feeding stingrays in Sting Ray City on Cayman Island.

For Jen, travel is not about the airline she flies or the hotel she stays in but the authentic experiences she has while she is travelling and the memorable people she meets along the way. She is wary of this when crafting itineraries for her clients and goes the extra length to add enriching touches wherever possible.
She's covered most of Australia, from the coast of Western Australia to wine country of South Australia and teeming city of Sydney. Jen has travelled through Asia, including Bali & Borneo and uncovered the secrets of France, Italy and Spain. As if her travel repertoire isn't impressive enough, she's also touched down in the Middle East and ticked off parts of Africa.
Her favourite destination is Morocco, due to its breathtaking landscapes. From staying in a Bedouin tent in the Sahara Desert to an amazing Kasbah in the High Atlas Mountain, with snow capped peaks in the background, this country has much to offer.
Above all, nothing tops the craziness of the Marrakech markets: the people, the street performers, the food, the energy. It's all incredible.
For a truly captivating tale, ask Jen about her experience riding the donkeys to the Valley of the Kings in Egypt.
Though experienced in all kinds of travel, Jen is particularly passionate about small group journeys and Round the World itineraries.
How many people do you know who have travelled to all corners of the globe? Zeenat Singh has travelled to all seven continents including: Africa, Nepal, Philippines, Bali, India, Thailand, Malaysia, Antarctica, Mauritius, Dubai, United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, Canada, South America and the United States.
Her favourite destination is India, which she nominates for its adventure, history and ability to ignite the senses. It’s a place Zeenat considers to be very spiritual and humbling. Another favourite holiday destination is Canada for the spectacular Rockies scenery, great food and hospitality.
A treasured travel memory of Zeenat’s is climbing to the top of Taragarh Fort in the city of Bundi in the Indian state of Rajasthan and then sitting back on a haveli mansion rooftop with a cold beer and some spicy Indian snacks. She'll also never forget her first glimpse of Everest en route to Base Camp.
Zeenat has 15 years travel industry experience, specialising in travel to South Africa, cruising vacations and Rocky Mountaineer rail holidays. She loves nothing more than talking to people, hearing what inspires them, and then making their dreams become a reality.
Having spent 20 years travelling extensively, Sherry has travelled to 33 countries and there is not stopping her there. She has seen and done some incredible things during her time as a travel consultant.
Whether it’s enjoying the simple pleasures like a fresh cupcake and coffee from Magnolia Bakery while walking through New York’s Central Park, or taking in the striking San Francisco views of Alcatraz and the Golden Gate Bridge from the famous sea lion hangout of Pier 39, getting out and seeing the world makes you rich with knowledge and an appreciation for life.
Both of these destinations happen to be among Sherry’s favourite. A devoted fan of North America, San Francisco especially holds special memories. “Standing on Pier 39 on a chilly evening, staring out at Alcatraz, a paddle steamer alight and heading towards the Golden Gate bridge at dusk, made me feel like I was standing in a moment I had only ever imagined,” said Sherry. “I felt like I was standing in a postcard!”
Anyone who loves Disneyworld would want to experience Orlando, Florida the way Sherry did. Staying at Port Orleans Resort - Riverside Hotel, Sherry was transported down river on a ferry to Disney Springs for dinner each night. And loving cruises as she does, Sherry welcomes any chance to Cruise or send someone on a Cruise whether it being a River Cruise or a Ocean Liner. One of her travel related specialties is cruises, and Sherry once helped a couple with a spare week in the U.S. not knowing what they could do, plan and book a complete Caribbean cruise itinerary.
Sherry herself has visited some amazing countries. But as Sherry will attest, you don’t have to travel far from home to find a ‘postcard moment.’ Tasmania is her favourite place in the world because of its peaceful landscape and relaxed atmosphere. “Tasmania is my antidote to this rushed world we live in. It has a mountain that cradles it’s beauty and it’s like heaven on earth!”
Kelly booked her first big overseas adventure back in 2000 and the travel agent inspired her so much that she decided to start a career in travel upon her return from Europe. She never looked back, and still relishes the daily thrill of being a consultant.
“I love that every day is different! There’s always a lot of excitement, and all sorts of personalised trips to book. You might have customers booking for the first time or for the 20th time, and I love the variety.”
Kelly has travelled to 28 countries but still considers her native New Zealand as the ultimate travel destination.
“Queenstown is a slice of paradise set against the natural beauty of Lake Wakatipu and the Southern Alps. The breathtaking scenery and range of experiences on offer make it a destination that no one should miss out on.”
Kelly is no stranger to island paradise, having planned her own dream wedding in the Cook Islands, sparking a love of destination wedding planning that she still embraces today.
“I’ve researched plenty of wedding venues in Fiji, and have also travelled to Tahiti many times. The South Pacific is a stunning location for a wedding and organising the details of a wedding party and their guests is something I am really passionate about.”
Kelly is a certified Tahiti Tiare Specialist, and some of her favourite travel moments include swimming with sharks and manta rays off Moorea and jet skiing around Mount Otemanu in Bora Bora’s pristine waters.
Her experience doesn’t stop at the beach! Another fond memory of Kelly’s is a visit to Disneyland.
“Even though I visited for the first time as an adult, Disneyland is definitely a very happy place. I felt like a big kid in the world’s biggest playground and loved every minute.”
Kelly prides herself on the ability to put herself in her clients’ shoes, allowing her to pre-empt any details that will make their journey easier or more enjoyable.
“I like to add little extras whenever I can, whether it’s just letting the hotel know they’re my VIPs so there’s flowers waiting in their room, or arranging a family-friendly villa with kids in mind. I always go the extra mile because the feeling of delighting my guests is just as much a thrill for me as it is for them.”
Charlotte Adams has an abundance of different travel experiences to share. With nine years of travel industry experience under her belt, Charlotte finds working at Travel Associates very fulfilling.“Every day is different, every itinerary is unique. Being part of someone’s travel experience is rewarding and the best feeling,” she says.
It all started when she did an exchange program in Germany at the young age of 15. Since then, Charlotte has also lived in the United Kingdom and Canada, worked a summer season on a Greek island and spent four months backpacking around South America through Ecuador, Galapagos Islands, Peru, Bolivia, Chile, Argentina and Brazil.
She has also travelled extensively through Europe to France, Spain, Italy, Czech Republic, Austria, Netherlands, Belgium, Ireland, Switzerland and Scandinavia. She's shopped her way through the USA hot spots of Los Angeles, Las Vegas, New York and San Francisco and adventured through Asian destinations such as Bali, Thailand, Kota Kinabalu, Langkawi, Japan and Hong Kong. As if that isn't enough, she has also been to Egypt, Morocco, Mauritius and New Zealand.
Despite having visited countries near and wide, Charlotte nominates Tasmania as her favourite destination – it’s also the spot where she grew up. On a recent visit she was wowed by the state’s spectacular natural beauty. Her most memorable travel experience is when she was travelling in Bolivia, and she and her boyfriend decided to tackle a three-day hike to the summit of the Andean mountain, Huayna Potosi, just outside of La Paz. They set out from the base camp in the middle of the night and spent almost seven hours climbing. At the summit, Charlotte says the sunrise was magical and her boyfriend chose that moment to propose.
See Charlotte for a memorable holiday, especially if you're considering a snow holiday at the Rocky Mountains or Banff in Canada or escaping to South America.
