The Dordogne and Vezere Rivers meander through tranquil Perigord landscape irrigating beautiful vineyards and old forests. Perigord is also known for its fine food. Our hotels have been specially selected for their excellent kitchens and you'll have ample opportunities to sample the local delicacies and finest wines.

From Les Eyzies travel by train along the Vezere Valley in the heart of Périgord Noir, home to ruined chateaux and lush forests. Walk to the picturesque village of St-Leon-sur-Vezere, with its two ruined castles on the rivers edge. View the site of Castelmerle and its fascinating prehistoric shelters.

Walk to the old village of Fanlac with its traditional pale limestone houses and the sprawling parklands of Le Thot. Enjoy a guided tour of the Lascaux cave complex and a descent to Montignac to join the GR461 walking trail en route to view the Chateau de Losse. From Le Roque Gageac head to the bastide town of Domme and visit the caves where the villagers hid during the Hundred Years' War.
