Icebreaker voyages are absolutely unique, exploratory adventures aboard our two, world-class icebreaker vessels. Travelling to both poles, the combination of exceptionally experienced captains, crew and expedition staff and these incredible vessels have the ability to take us places so remote they will be seen by just a privileged few. There is simply no other way to access destinations like the North Pole.
Onboard helicopters carry us closer to historic sites and distinctive wildlife, and give bird’s eye views of untouched frozen landscapes and the ship crashing through the pack ice. A truly awesome way to experience and unlock some of the polar regions' most amazing secrets.
Your 16 day Polar experience includes:-
- return air transfers from gateway city (Helsinki, Finland) to port of embarkation/disembarkation (Murmansk/ Russia)
- One night pre-expedition and one night post-expedition hotel accommodation, including breakfast.
- Shipboard accommodation with daily housekeeping.
- All breakfasts, lunches and dinners on board throughout your voyage. Coffee, tea, cocoa and bottled water available around the clock.
- All shore landings and Zodiac excursions per the daily program.
- All helicopter transfers and aerial sightseeing according to each day’s program.
- Leadership throughout the voyage by our experienced Expedition Leader, including shore landings and other activities. Formal and informal presentations by our Expedition Team and guest speakers as scheduled.
- Photographic Journal on DVD.
- Our Polar Arts Program featuring a resident who conducts workshops in digital photography or traditional media (e.g. pastel, watercolour, oils, pen and ink).
- A pair of rubber expedition boots on loan for shore landings (so you don’t have to pack any).
- Hair dryer in every cabin.
- A Quark Expeditions parka to keep.
- Comprehensive pre-departure materials, including a map and an informative Reader.
- All miscellaneous service taxes and port charges throughout the program.
