Arrive in Santiago and spend the afternoon acquainting yourself with the Chilean capital with your private A&K guide. Fly south to Temuco, the gateway to the Chilean Lake District. Visit two handicraft centres and enjoy a traditional Mapuche dwelling. On Day 3 of your journey, choose from a number of adventurous activities: an outing to the nearby Volcanic Caves to see the 200m deep lava tunnel; a hike into the native forest to the hot springs at Huife for an energizing thermal bath or explore the Geometric hot springs.
Travel back to Santiago and onto San Pedro de Atacama in Chile’s North. Staying at Awasi enjoy the driest desert on earth, a place of dramatic scenery, a lunar landscape. On your return journey to Santiago, spend a night in Santa Rita at Casa Real, a grand old mansion set in a private park and surrounded by vineyards. Enjoy a superb dinner with wines specially selected to match your cuisine. The following day, visit a winery followed by lunch at Dona Paula restaurant before returning to Santiago.
