Here are some hints and tips to help make your stay more comfortable;
Once you've landed there are a number of transport options available to take you to your accommodation. Taxis are available in large numbers, there are airport shuttles, a public bus system and be sure to check your agent if your hotel or resort offers a free shuttle service as part of your accommodation package as many do. There is a limousine service as well or if you are very brave and feel confident to drive on the notorious Bali roads you can hire a car as well.
Upon your arrival in Bali you will be required to purchase a tourist entry visa. The visa must be paid in US dollars so make sure you have US cash before you leave Australia for ease of payment.
Before you leave Bali you will be required to pay a departure tax that must be paid in Rupiah. Make sure you don't spend all of your local money before you leave, otherwise you will have to pay a fee at the airport to convert your cash into Rupiah.
ATMS in Bali are the most efficient way to obtain cash (Indonesian Rupiah) even though there is a small fee to use them. Be careful using money exchangers, not all are as they seem and if you do need to use them stick to the ones on the main roads and do not hand your money back once you have counted it.
Check with your doctor about possible vaccinations that you may need before you travel to Bali. If you are travelling in the wet season (October to March) you may also require malaria tablets daily.
