Join us for an in-depth discovery of Egypt's principal sights and a safari in the three prime game parks of Kenya. This epic journey joins the mystic wonder and history of Egypt with the wildlife spectacle of Kenya.
In Cairo, our local guide will unravel the complexity of the dynastic periods as you visit Memphis and its necropolis, Sakkara. See the first 'step-pyramid' and visit several outstanding Old Kingdom tombs. Explore the Egyptian Museum, pyramids and Sphinx before arriving in ancient Thebes (Luxor) where you'll visit Karnak Temple by horse-drawn carridge, the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, Colossi of Memnon and the Valley of the Kings. Cruises on the Nile, visit Edfu Temple and the ruins at Komombo. In Aswan, visit the Temple of Isis, and Abu Simbel (optional). Back in Cairo, explore the Gayer-Anderson Museum, Ibn Tulun Mosque and Khan el Khalili bazaar.
With exceptional national parks teeming with a diversity of wildlife, Kenya is undoubtedly one of the world's top wildlife destinations. Our week long wildlife safari will take you to the arid scrublands and endemic species of the Samburu National Park, the flock of flamingos in Lake Nakuru National Park and finally the world-renowned Masai Mara with its stunning open grasslands and vast herds where you will enjoy game drives and walks.
Your small group cultural adventure and safari (maximum of 7 people) includes a local Peregrine tour leader, arrival transfer, transport, wildlife fees, sightseeing, game activities, accommodation (6 nights comfortable hotel, 3 nights riverboat, 2 nights safari lodge, 2 nights air-conditioned sleeper train, 4 nights permanent tented camp) plus 16 breakfasts, 9 lunches, 11 dinners.
