Spirit Of Queensland Has All The Bells & Whistles

15th December 2014

There is no better way to experience the coastal beauty of Queensland than by rail; especially when the journey is on board one of Australia’s most popular trains, the new and luxurious Spirit of Queensland.

This week, Queensland Rail launches their fifth weekly service between Brisbane and Cairns on Spirit of Queensland. With the additional service on Spirit, the faithful Sunlander will be retired at the end of 2014.

Making stops in such popular cities as Mackay, Proserpine and Townsville, Queensland Rail’s coastal service is the perfect option when travelling to such iconic destinations as the northern beaches and Great Barrier Reef. If making the entire journey between Brisbane and Cairns, the scheduled travel time is exactly 24 hours.

The premium class Spirit of Queensland is the latest addition to the Queensland Rail fleet, carrying up to 172 passengers in stylish comfort. So settle into your Business Class style RailBed seat or Premium Economy lounger and enjoy the scenery and service on Australia’s newest deluxe train.

Australia’s newest deluxe train, Spirit of Queensland, makes the trip between Brisbane and Cairns five times a week with stops along Queensland's tropical coast.

Lie Flat With RailBed

The first two passenger carriages on Spirit of Queensland are dedicated to RailBed. This plush seat offers ample recline for comfort along with a state-of-the-art touch screen personal entertainment system for on-demand movies, music and even audio books. Other seat functions include a reading light, footrest, drink holder and a power point and USB port for the continuous charging of all of your personal electronic devices.

At night, the seat converts to a lie flat bed and comes complete with sheets, a comfy duvet and pillow. There are showers available in each carriage and a towel and amenities kit is included with your fare.

You won’t go hungry either on Spirit of Queensland. One of the most celebrated service features on this trip is the main meal service. Passengers can select from a variety of chef prepared options from the three course menu and each of the day’s main meals are served right at your seat. For those in-between meal times, there is a fully licensed Club Car for snacks and refreshments.
