Consultant Review: The Highlights of My Bali Adventure

21st January 2017

Everyone finds their own brand of paradise in Bali. Views of tropical perfection enhanced by the aromas of mouth-watering local dishes are just the start; luxurious resorts, jaw-dropping sunsets and unique cultural experiences are yours for the taking.

Seven lucky Travel Associates Consultants recently enjoyed a Bali escape, and although each day was filled with amazing moments, these are the ones that stood out for Lauren Venn of Wolf & Turner Travel Associates.

What was the most beautiful thing you saw?

The Gili Islands were even more amazing then I thought they would be. The water was so clear, and it glowed with the most gorgeous colours of blue and green.

What was your favourite festive beverage?

I am not a big drinker, but I did try the French Martinis at Alila Seminyak and they were exceptional. I am not a fan of Bin Tang beers, but you have to try them, right? Everyone else sure seemed to like them!

How about your favourite meal?

I am not very adventurous with my food, but we learned to cook Nasi Goreng and it was so delicious. I love the rice/ prawn/ satay combo, and when you cook it yourself you know how absolutely fresh it is.

Dive into the essence of the culture: Pure and Authentic Bali

Tell us about the best swim that you had

I adored the adults-only infinity pool at the Alila Seminyak, it is truly spectacular. You can gaze out over the beach, and it feels like a continuation of the ocean when you’re drifting lazily in the water.

Which view will you never forget?

The view from the top of the ferry from Bali to Lombok was the best. There was music playing, warm sunshine kissing my face, and a constant parade of stunning islands going by.

What was the most interesting thing you learned?

I don’t usually enjoy cooking, but we took part in a traditional Balinese cooking class and I really enjoyed it. It was a great way to get an in-depth look into the culture, and then we got to eat the delicious food we'd made, which always helps.

Was there a stand-out hotel room?

The suites at Alila Seminyak! Wow wow wow. It’s in the perfect location, offers breathtaking sunsets, amazing pools, delicious food and complete ocean view suites.

Which experience was most unique?

On our final night we sat and watched the sun set at Ku De Ta, drinking a final cocktail before leaving for the airport. We were driven to the airport in a VW Kombi Limousine; it had a mini bar, drinks on demand, and some serious retro lighting and old school beats going on.
