South America Holidays

South America

Last year, Catherine Baker from Press & James Travel Associates travelled to Argentina and experiencing Buenos Aires, Iguaçu Falls and Rio highlighting the diverse nature of this country.

Arriving into Buenos Aires, Catherine took in a city tour with a visit to La Boca and the Caminito, Recoletta Cemetery and Tigre Delta. Evenings were spent enjoying a Tango show and an Opera Pampa horse show about the history of Argentina.

Moving on to the famous Iguaçu Falls, Catherine stayed at both the Panorama Hotel and the Iguaçu Grand hotel and Casino. A highlight was walking around the top of Iguaçu Falls and taking the Macuco boat trip under the falls. Rio was next on the trip, with visits to the Corcovado and statue of Christ Redeemer. Sugar Loaf mountain at sunset was a great memory along with Copacabana and Ipanema Beach. Catherine also took a tour to a Favela and went to the Rio Scenarium bar which is listed as one of the top 10 bars in the world.

Highlights? Walking the streets of Buenos Aires 'the Paris of South America', visiting Evita's grave and seeing the fascinating Recoletta Cemetery in Buenos Aires. Iguaçu Falls are just amazing and the boat ride under the falls was a real buzz. Rio is a really beautiful city and you must get up to the Corcovado to see the statue and the amazing views over looking the city.
