Trackside in Singapore

Kim Ross from Ross & Turner Travel Associates shares her incredible experience at the electric 2010 Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix.

Formula 1 Grand Prix events provide a perfect excuse to go anywhere - and Singapore definitely knows how to accommodate the spectacle.

For the third consecutive year, the main event took place at night, adding to the incredible views of the Marina Bay area and the electric atmosphere. Despite the expected influx of people, things run incredibly smoothly, with the city-state's Mass Rapid Transit system providing a safe and efficient means to get around. The system also means that staying trackside for the event is not essential - while still highly desirable for many.

The new Marina Bay Sands hotel provides an ideal place for event punters and non-fans alike, where you can watch the event unfold at your leisure and enjoy the vibrant city vistas. Currently featured in Travel Associates Spring 2010 Inspirations brochure, the property is transforming Singapore's downtown, providing unparalleled shopping, dining and entertainment options. Adding to Marina Bay Sands impressive list of facilities is a Las Vegas-style casino and the Sands SkyPark, where guests can lounge around the 150 meter infinity pool or dine in exclusive restaurants 57 floors above the action.
