A small group of Travel Associates consultants have recently returned from a memorable train journey on board the elegant Eastern & Oriental Express travelling from Bangkok to Singapore.
The journey commenced with a business class flight to Bangkok. With flat beds, video on demand, excellent food and a good selection of premium wines, it was great way to start a unique travel experience.
Arriving in Bangkok, the group boarded the luxurious Eastern & Oriental Express for a three-night journey to Singapore. Accommodation was in a spacious stateroom compartment with private facilities and a room attendant on call 24 hours a day. Highlights of the journey included crossing the River Kwai, visiting the Hell Fire Pass Museum and War Cemetery and enjoying the amazing array of scenery from vast mountains, to acres of rice paddy fields and fleeting glimpses of the beach. On board, travellers were treated to a culinary delight with a renowned French chef preparing the meals.
Arriving in Singapore, the group stayed at the St Regis Singapore, the first brand-new hotel to be built in Singapore in 11 years. Located at the start of Orchard Road, the St Regis has all the luxuries the discerning traveller desires, and is highly recommended with many considering the St Regis to be one of the ultimate hotels in Singapore.
