Online check-in opens 48 hours before departure and ends 90 minutes prior. For airport check-in, it is recommended that guests complete the check-in process 60 minutes before the scheduled flight time. Gold and Platinum Enrich members as well as Oneworld Emerald and Sapphire flyers may use the priority check-in lanes.
Business Class is available across the fleet. On international flights operated by the A380 and A330, guests will enjoy Malaysia's updated Business Class cabin with its roomy 2 x 2 x 2 seating configuration. This way, each guest is assured an aisle or window seat. On the longest of flights, seats recline to a fully lie-flat position which stretch to a 6 foot (183cm) long bed. Some medium-haul flights such as those to Australia may use the angled flat beds. A comforter and duvet are also available on long-haul routes.
Guests are treated to a selection of gourmet meals (including Halal options) as well as a range of premium beverages such as French champagne, international wines and premium beer. Malaysia Airlines can also accommodate many special meal requests and children’s meal options are available when requested in advance.
International Business Class seats on Airbus and Boing 777 aircraft feature personal video screens for on-demand entertainment. The screens are touch activated for easy navigation and selections include a travel map, movies, TV shows, music and games. A USB port is also available for continuous laptop, tablet or smart phone usage. Duty free shopping is also available during the flight.
The Malaysia Airlines free checked baggage allowance is 2 pieces with a total combined weight of 40kg. Enrich Platinum and Gold, and Oneworld Emerald and Sapphire flyers receive an additional allowance. Two small carry-on pieces are allowed in the cabin. Each bag must weigh 7kg or less.
First Class is available only on the A380s. The aircraft is used almost exclusively on the K.L - London Heathrow route. The cabin is configured with 8 semi-enclosed suites for maximum privacy. Each suite features a 180 degree lie-flat bed with a pitch stretching a generous 88 inches. Individual ottomans and massage elements are also incorporated into the plush seat, and for added comfort, large pillows, quilted mattresses, duvets and Clarins amenity kits are also provided. A personal closet and enclosed nooks provide plenty of storage space for personal items during the flight.
Malaysia Airlines offers a unique inflight dining service to First Class guests. The "chef on call" service allows guests to pre-order their meal selections in advance with up to 25 gourmet options to choose from. Onboard, the full bar menu features the finest champagne and wine, premium beers and a variety of alcohol free drinks.
First Class suites are equipped with a large 23 inch flat screen TV for on-demand entertainment selections. Seats also come equipped with USB ports for continued usage of personal laptops and handheld electronic devices. Duty free shopping is also available during the flight.
The free checked baggage allowance for First Class is 2 pieces with a total combined weight of 50kg. Two small carry-on bags are also permitted in the cabin with a 7kg weight limit for each piece.
Club Lounges & Alliances
Malaysia Airlines’ Golden Lounges can be found throughout Malaysia and at select international airports such as London Heathrow, Melbourne and Perth. First and Business passengers, Enrich Platinum and Gold members and Oneworld Emerald and Sapphire flyers can access the lounge when flying on a Malaysia or Oneworld carrier flight. Golden lounges feature restaurant style dining, wireless internet, business facilities, massage services and an enclosed children's area. Enrich Platinum members and First Class guests also enjoy exclusive access to the Platinum Suite. This lounge offers greater privacy, a gourmet menu with waiter service and shower facilities.
