Through its code share agreements with Qantas, Air New Zealand, American Airlines and others, Air Tahiti Nui provides seamless connections to cities around the world. Qantas code-share flights from Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne allow for easy connections with Air Tahiti Nui in Auckland.

Overview

Backed by local tourism bodies and business leaders, Air Tahiti Nui was formed by the Tahitian government for the purposes of attracting more tourists to the Pacific island nation. Beginning operations in 1998, the airline quickly gained a reputation for friendly, reliable service. Air Tahiti Nui offers the only direct connection to Papeete from Tokyo and Los Angeles as well as one-stop service from Paris. The airline's Auckland route provides convenient connections for those travelling from New Zealand and Australia.

Club Tiare is Air Tahiti Nui's frequent flyer program. The program consists of three levels, Basic, Silver and Gold. Members will enjoy a myriad of benefits at each level. The program is free to join and allows guests to accrue miles based points which can be used for free flights and upgrades. Silver and Gold members receive an additional baggage allowance and bonus miles. Gold status also provides free lounge access to Air Tahiti Nui's Priority Lounge in Tahiti.

Fleet

Air Tahiti Nui's fleet consists of five Airbus A330-300s, each configured with 30 angle-flat business class seats and 264 Economy Class seats. Passengers enjoy a full in-flight service with complimentary hot meals and beverages as well as seat back video monitors for on-demand entertainment.

Coinciding with the airline's 20 year anniversary in 2018, Air Tahiti Nui expects to take delivery of four brand new Boeing 787-9 aircraft. These state-of-the-art planes will replace the ageing A330s currently in its fleet. 

Check-in

Air Tahiti Nui advises passengers to check in 3 hours prior to scheduled departure. All check-in desks close 1 hour before departure. Passengers attempting to check-in after this time may be denied boarding.

Poerava Business Class

Comfort

Air Tahiti Nui's fleet of Airbus A330-300s feature a business class cabin with 30 seats, each with a generous 53 inch seat pitch. Seats recline to a 160 degree angle-flat position.  The arm chair seats provide additional width and are fully adjustable with head and leg rests.

Dining

French and Polynesian inspired meals are accompanied by complimentary champagne, wine and other spirits. Passengers are provided with a menu where a choice of starter, main and dessert options are available. Those with special dietary requirements can request a special meal when contacting the airline a minimum of 48 hours before departure.

Entertainment

Each seat comes equipped with a personal seat back video screen with remote control and touch screen capabilities. On-demand viewing on the 12" screen can be paused or stopped as needed. Entertainment options include a wide variety of movies, TV shows, music and games. For those travelling with their own personal electronic devices or laptops, a power point and USB port are also available at each seat.

Baggage

Each passenger is allowed one carry-on item plus one personal item such as a small handbag, camera case or infant bag. The maximum weight of the carry-on item is 10kg (22 lbs) with linear dimensions within 115cm (45 inches).

The checked baggage allowance may vary depending on frequent flyer status level. The basic allowance for checked bags is 2 pieces per passenger. Silver and Gold Club Tiare Club members are allowed an additional bag. Size and weight limitations are the following: 32kg (70 lbs) within the dimensions of 158cm (62 inches).

Moana Economy Class

Comfort

Configured in a 2-4-2 configuration, Air Tahiti Nui's Moana Economy Class cabin is fitted out with 264 seats. Leg room is average with a seat pitch of 32 inches while seat width offers 18 inches of personal space.

Dining

All meals and beverages in Moana Economy Class are complimentary. Passengers enjoy a choice of meals which reflect the local culture of the destination. Wine and other spirits are available. Special meals can be ordered with a minimum of 48 hours notice. There are a total of 19 meals options available for those with special dietary needs.

Entertainment

Each seat comes equipped with a 9 inch personal TV screen for on-demand entertainment. Passengers can choose between movies, TV shows. games and music. There is also a USB power port at each seat for the use of laptops and other personal electronic devices.

Baggage

Passengers are permitted one carry-on item in the cabin. The maximum weight and size limitations are 10kg and 115cm respectively. In addition to the carry-on bag, passengers may also take one personal item on board. Personal items include a small handbag, camera bag or infant bag with a maximum weight of 3kg.

Economy Class passengers are allowed one checked bag with a maximum weight of 23kg. The linear size dimensions must not exceed 158cm. Gold and Silver Tiare members are allowed one extra bag free of charge. Size and weight limitations remain the same.

Lounges

Club Tiare Gold members and passengers travelling in Poerava Business Class have access to the Air Tahiti Nui International Lounge in Papeete. Lounges for Business Class passengers are also available in the following airports:

·         Los Angeles (LAX) - This shared lounge facility is available for most flights, depending on lounge capacity restrictions. A meal voucher is provided in the event guests cannot access the lounge due to space restrictions.

·         Paris (CDG) - Air Tahiti Nui Business Class guests are invited to use the Cathay Pacific Lounge.

·         Auckland (AKL) - The Qantas Business Class Lounge is used in Auckland. An invitation to the lounge is provided upon check-in. For code-share flight TN2102 between Auckland and Papeete, the Air New Zealand Lounge is available for use. An invitation is also provided at check in.

·         Sydney (SYD) - Lounge access is provided by the Qantas Business Class Lounge. An invitation is granted upon check-in.

·         Tokyo (NRT) - The Qantas Business Class Lounge is provided in Tokyo.
